We Created an Organic Herbal Stress Relief Supplement That is Very Different From The Rest of The Market.
We carefully chose herbs that relax muscle, regulate mood, calm the brain and digestive system. Complimenting these herbs are critical vitamins to support these goals. It’s common for those suffering from chronic stress to have depleted adrenal glands. The adrenal glands are often overlooked in stress formulations.
Our formula is complete with a specific blend of herbs and vitamins for maximum adrenal support (Holy Basil, Ashwagandha, Rhodiola rosea, methylated B-Vitamins, Wild Oats and Magnolia Bark).
All this is done with our main mission to do good by excluding fillers like magnesium stearate and coupling the phenyl group with GABA to maximize brain absorption. Zen Calm is also very helpful for women going through menopause as the ingredients support a rebalanced endocrine system.

Magnesium is extremely important in reaching a relaxed state. There are nine forms of magnesium and they all do very different things. Our Magnesium Glycinate has the highest bioavailability or absorption rate and relaxes the body's skeletal muscles better than any other form. Magnesium is required for muscle relaxation and is highly deficient in most people. Being deficient in this critical mineral can cause tension from daily stressors.
Our Magnesium is bonded to the amino acid glycine. Glycine is a large molecule that is a relaxing neurotransmitter and therefore enhances magnesium’s natural relaxation properties. This is the best form when using it for mental calming and relaxation.
Additionally, our Magnesium is the least likely to induce diarrhea and the safest option for correcting a long-term deficiency.
Vitamin B1 is referred to as the “anti-stress” vitamin. It is an essential nutrient for the brain and helps to the body and brain recover during elongated periods of stress. B1 has been identified in supporting nerve function, reducing memory loss, improving overall long-term brain health while contributing to cardiac support.
B6 (Pyridoxal 5-phosphate)
Vitamin B6 also plays a vital role in creating the building blocks for neuronal growth a repair. It has been linked in increases in GABA production for those people with insomnia who are chronically deficient in B6. Reductions in anxiety and increases in restful sleep are heavily dependent on proper amounts of B6 in the brain.
Not all B12s are created equal. To have any positive affect on sleep and stress, it needs to pass the blood brain barrier and only the methylcobalamin form of B12 is able to do that.
Our methylcobalamin form of B12 has the highest bioavailability is highly stable and doesn’t need to be converted for the body to use it. Once in the brain, B12 simulates serotonin secretion improving mood and reducing irritability.
B12 protects the brain against exotoxins, which damage nerve stems. Methylcobalamin also reduces homocysteine levels in the body improving cardiovascular health.
Organic Ashwagandha (10:1)
Ashwagandha is a truly remarkable adaptogenic herb. In addition to its neural protection that helps negate damage to brain cells it also the most potent natural reducer of stress.
In many studies, Ashwagandha has shown to be more effective in reducing anxiety and depression than most antidepressant drugs. This includes the drug lorazepam (Ativan®) and mipramine (Tofranil®).
The scientific community is proving that Ashwagandha’s benefits come from its ability to neutralize oxidative stress that damage lipids in the brain that occur when exposed to stress for extended periods. This not only acts to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, but may also be a preventative against degenerative brain diseases as we age.
Wild Oats (Avena sativa)
Often used to combat being tired, stress or fatigued, wild oats are considered one of the best remedies to rejuvenate the nervous system especially in times of stress or depression. They are a rich source of carbohydrate and soluble fiber and have one of the highest amounts of Iron, Zinc and Manganese.
It’s important to note, oats don’t inherently contain gluten and our wild oats test well below the 20ppm threshold (parts per million). Making our formula gluten free.
Chamomile is typically used to calm an upset stomach, induce sleep, calm muscle spasms and overall reduce anxiety and depression.
Chamomile’s bluish-colored oils contain 28 different terpenoids and 36 flavonoids, among them luteolin and quercetin, which are natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. One flavonoid in particular, apigenin, acts as a neurotransmitter binding to benzodiazepine receptors in the brain, causing relaxation.
Research supports chamomile’s ability to relax blood vessels and smooth muscle fibers, which contribute to its sedative and sleep-inducing properties. Studies show chamomile oil reduced levels of ACTH, a stress hormone in the brain and revealed substantial improvement in mood while decreasing anxiety.
Organic Rhodiola rosea
Rhodiola rosea is a remarkable herb for its affects on the nervous system. Studies have shown it is exceptionally beneficial in enhancing the ability of our own nervous system to heal. When taking this herb mental focus, endurance and memory increase. This is most likely attributed to its neural healing properties as an anti-oxidant. With consistent supplementation researchers have found a significant reduction in stress-induced fatigue with no side effects.
Peppermint is one of our best allies in reducing stress and anxiety. This is attributed to its menthol containing leaves which is a natural muscle relaxant. We often don't realize how a good night's sleep is connected to proper digestion. If there are irregular muscle contractions in our digestive tract this can negatively influence our sleep patterns.
Peppermint is unique in that it can survive passage through our stomach acid and relax the smooth muscle that make up our GI tract. It has been used to sooth IBS and is helpful in both calming the mind and digestive systems for a restful sleep.
Organic Schisandra Berry
An adaptogen used in Chinese medicine for centuries. Schisandra berry is a balancing herb that increases energy while also calming the nervous system. Athletes use Schisandra berry for it’s ability to increase nitric oxide levels in the body boosting energy without a caffeine.
It also stimulates the enzyme glutathione, which helps to detoxify the body in a way that increases mental clarity. All these things will help support the adrenal glands, while having an overall relaxing impact.
While it is used in liver support, it is most popular for addressing mental disorders, depression, anxiety and mood swings.
Organic Passion Flower
Passion flower is another GABA increasing ingredient that lowers anxiety, stress, calms the mind and has a positive influence on the gastrointestinal tract. It has been used for centuries to address an upset stomach.
Organic Lemon Balm
Another member of the mint family, lemon balm contains naturally occurring compounds like eugenol that relaxes skeletal muscle and terpenes that adds to the soothing effect.
Lemon balm contains rosmarinic acid, which increase GABA activity in the brain; an important neurotransmitter that calms anxiety and reduces overstimulation. This is achieved by inhibiting the transaminase enzyme that breaks down GABA allowing more to exist in the brain.
This increase in GABA is discussed in more detail below in the phenyl-GABA description.
Organic Magnolia Bark
Magnolia Bark is another potent adaptogen included in our formulation for its adrenal support and anxiety and tension reduction.
Magnolia bark is rich in two aromatic phytochemicals; magnolol and honokiol. Scientific research shows these compounds help modulate cortisol secretion; cortisol is intricately linked to our natural sleep cycle and adrenal health. Japanese scientists have determined these compounds are a 1000 times more potent of an antioxidant than vitamin E. Magnolia bark’s ability to inhibit interluekin-6 accounts for its anti-inflammatory benefits. This may account for some of its ability to reduce stress on the body and modulate cortisol.
It’s more common use is in reducing diarrhea, abdominal distention, nausea and vomiting. Any herb benefiting the digestive system typically has a calming affect overall.
Organic Holy Basil
Tulsi or Holy Basil is a close relative to mint and therefore has a positive influence on digestive issues. It also has antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.
In India holy basil is revered for its adaptogenic characteristics. This adaptogen helps the body to cope under stressful conditions while relieving adrenal fatigue.
When we are under constant stress our adrenal glands secrete cortisol and corticosterone, this is often referred to as the “fight or flight” hormone. They are useful for immediate energy, but when constantly secreted this results in adrenal fatigue, stress, digestive issues, and insomnia. If left unchecked, the constant production of cortisol and corticosterone leads to increased appetite and weight gain, nervous system damage, anxiety or depression, and immune suppression.
Eugenol, caryophyllene and triterpenoic acids contained in Holy Basil reduce the stress hormone levels from the adrenal glands, avoiding common symptoms of adrenal fatigue..
L-Tyrosine is an important precursor to several neurotransmitters including dopamine and norepinephrine. Diets low in tyrosine or phenylalanine will have difficulty manufacturing dopamine and norepinephrine. These are critical in adrenal health. Our inability to manufacture hormones that regulate stress can lead to adrenal fatigue and additional stress. This is the reason studies have shown tyrosine ability to boost mental focus, alertness, drive and motivation, as it is a basic building block for neural nutrition.
Skullcap has been used for many years to reduce anxiety brought about by prolonged stress. This includes panic attacks and often is coupled with passion flower for their synergy. It is useful in acute stress or prolonged.
It’s especially good for relieving muscle spasms and an overall relaxer of the nervous system.
Phenyl-GABA or gamma aminobutyric acid is a very important neurotransmitter for lowering anxiety and mood regulation. It does this in part by balancing other hormones, namely adrenalin and noradrenalin. When they are out of balance one typically feels restless, anxious, depressed, stressed and irritable. This imbalance is strongly linked to insomnia.
Many sleep aids have GABA, but they won’t have the desired impact unless they can pass the blood brain barrier. Our GABA has the phenyl group attached to enable passage past the blood brain barrier where it positively influences the body.
Organic Reishi Mushroom
Reishi Mushroom is often thought of as the number one choice in fighting adrenal fatigue. It is a powerful adaptogen and adrenal tonic. The exact mechanism for its ability to reduce stress, adrenal fatigue improve your immune system isn’t well-known but has been replicated in studies with consistent positive results.
